Hopewell’s No6 homes have become more Attainable

Hopewell Residential has joined the Attainable Homes Calgary Corp. (AHCC) in providing affordable home ownership with the release of 14 townhomes for sale at Hopewell’s Chalet No6 project.

Qualifying households can purchase one of the homes with a $2,000 downpayment. Applicants must earn no more than $90,000 if they have dependent children living in the home and no more than $80,000 without children. “We’re happy to be partnering with builders like Hopewell to offer more options in great neighbourhoods like Copperfield,” said John Harrop, AHCC president and CEO.

Two-and three-bedroom options are being offered in Copperfield with monthly mortgage payments starting from $1,240.

Applicants must have a mortgage pre-approval of at least $267,900 to buy a Chalet No6 townhome.

With slightly more than a month in his position, Harrop has been amazed by the level of interest in AHCC’s program.

“You just have to walk into our office and see the number of enquiries and phone calls we receive to know that home prices in Calgary continue to be at a level that is unattainable for many,” he said. “The program was developed for individuals, couples and families working in the municipal, academic, social services and health sectors.

“The people accessing our program have stable jobs and can manage mortgage payments, but they haven’t been able to save a down-payment because of the cost of living and rent in Calgary.”

Attainable Homes Calgary Corporation (AHCC) is a nonprofit social enterprise and wholly owned subsidiary of The City of Calgary that delivers well-appointed, entry-level homes for Calgarians who have been caught in the city’s growing housing affordability gap.

Through our Attainable Home Ownership Program, we connect builders, developers, lenders, lawyers and others to bring down the upfront costs of ownership so qualifying Calgarians can buy their very own home with a $2,000 down payment. Furthermore, when you decide to buy an attainable home, you're also choosing to pay it forward to help another family in the future. When you eventually decide to refinance or sell your home on the market, a share of the appreciation goes back into the program to fund more developments that will help even more people get a foot on the property ladder.

Do you aspire to own a home of your own? Contact us today and let us show you just how attainable this milestone can be.
